Qi massage

Qi massage (qi an mo) is based on Chinese medicine and philosophy, and it supports general health and wellbeing. Qi massage helps to reinforce the human body’s self-healing power. The aim is to promote unhindered flow of energy within the body. According to the meridian theory of Chinese medicine, hindrances to the movement of qi, or life energy, cause pain, discomfort and ultimately also various diseases.

During Qi massage, the main energy channels and acupuncture points (dian xue an mo) on the legs and back are manipulated in a particular order. The massage is relaxing, it stimulates the circulation of energy and blood, and reduces pain and the stoppage of qi. It is important to find a suitable lying position, which means the correct alignment of limbs and channels, which incidentally can also be applied in everyday life, in order to improve health, strengthen the immune system and ensure improved wellbeing.
Qi massage is suitable for most people, no direct contraindications have been observed. However, it is not recommended to attend a massage if you have ulcers or fresh injuries (fractures, strains, swellings). And in the case of a cold it is wise to stay at home!
